Top Ten Tuesday #4

Originally created by The Broke & The Bookish. Now you can find it @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week it's a summer TBR list. When summer comes I tend to gravitate more around cute romance books. They make me happy and summer make me happy too! So here's some of my summer TBR books.

  1. Ooooh! Is P&P a reread for you, or will this be your first time reading it? I'm planning to reread Emma for Austen in August this year.

Some of your other choices look familiar -- I have seen Tweet Cute and Book Lovers a lot on Bookstagram ;-) I also tend to grab cute romances more in the summer.

    1. It will be my first time reading it! I'm a French Canadian so I didn't really read English classic books much growing up and at school we were reading french classics. I think I'll start with Jane Austen because from what I heard she's one of the best! If you have any suggestion for me I'll be happy :)

    2. That makes sense! I hope you enjoy it :-) Austen is definitely one of the best!!!

I find Austen really approachable, but I've been reading 1800s classics for decades. If you find yourself getting lost, I totally recommend watching a movie version! When I've taught her to high school students, that's really helped them figure out who all the characters are, since all the "Miss Bennett" and "Colonel Fitzwilliam" and so on can get confusing. But if you're used to reading older classics, then you'll be fine ;-)

  4. I should really read Pride and PRejudice one of these days- or at least Sense and sensibility since I loved the movie version. Starry Eyes is one I've been wanting to read since it came out too.

  5. P&P is always a delightful read! I also loved TWEET CUTE. Both of these definitely have that lighthearted, fun summer vibe. I hope you enjoy them and all your other picks.

    Happy TTT!

  6. I loved The Bromance Book Club - a very different sort of romance, I loved the idea of men reading romance novels, and I appreciated that it was about a struggling marriage rather than just two people who get thrown together. Enjoy your summer reading!
